I'm very happy to be in Taiwan this week, compliments of Cengage Learning and Crane Publishing.
James Chang, president of Crane Publishing & famous, self-made millionaire.
I'm visiting universities around the country to talk about "Interactivity" and how important it is to give students a wide variety of listening tasks & types in the classroom.
Of course, Listening Advantage provides learners with so many different kinds of listenings: monologs, dialogs, skits, narratives, lectures, extended conversations, and more!
While students listen they hear not only standard North American English, but, Australian, New Zealand, three different kinds of British accents, and common U.S. regional accents: Southern, New York, and Midwest.
Listening Advantage also lets learners hear excellent non-native speakers of English too from Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Philippines, India, Romania, Singapore, Thailand and China.
I've met hard-working teachers who are eager to motivate their students with fresh material and bring new ideas into their classrooms.
I was honored that Crane Publishing VP Paul Yang attended my final workshop. Paul is a former teacher with lots of energy!
In morning and afternoon workshops every day this week, it's been great fun to meet teachers and hear about their different teaching situations!
I had a great experience in Taiwan, and I hope to return in November of this year for ETA-Taipei!!
